8 hours itinerary from Merida

Visit Chichen Itza, the most important archeological site of the Yucatan, and practice rappel and zip line in the extreme cenote tour.

Chichen Itza is considered one of the 7 New Wonders of the World. It is a very important Mayan archaeological site and the best preserved Mayan location of México. It is also the second most visited site, just after Teotihuacan near México City. Its name is a Mayan word that means “at the mouth of the Itza well”. The most astonishing buildings here are The Castle (Kukulcan God Temple), The Ball Court and The Observatory, amongst others.

Within the archaeological site you can visit the Sacred Cenote, where different sacrifices were offered to the rain god Chaac. To get there you must walk through a “Sacbe” (white path), as the ancient Mayans did back in their time.

Yokdzonot is a cenote with plenty adventurous activities to do. It is really beautiful, an oasis in the middle of the jungle. You rappel down to it, zip line across it, or just swim and relax in its crystal clear water.
